Greetings,
I got my computer a year ago and have been
looking for an old tool group since. I found the Electronic
Neanderthal, Jon Zimmer, Falcon-wood and the blood and guts of
Mr. Leach but knew there was a place like this out innet land.
The charter suggests that new subscribers give a brief bio--so
here goes.
I am Chuck Zitur from Billings, Montana. I
sell wholesale building maintenance supplies for a living.
I am a collector of older and antique tools. I began
collecting planes and still like and pursue them but my current
interest is in boring devices such as drills, braces, augers,
screwdrivers, bits and hollow handled tool holders. My
most recent find is an Ohio plow plane in rosewood. It is a
number 104. It is in excellent shape if it were not for the
wedge which the owner must have regularly tapped into place with
a sledgehammer. Oh well!!! It matches my ivory tipped E
Baldwin plow that only has 1 1/2 arms. If you turn it just right
on the shelf.......
I am delighted to belong to this group and look
forward to receiving the benefit of your collective knowledge
and hope that I will be able to contribute in turn.

Charles ‘Chuck’ Raymond Zitur
Charles (Chuck) Raymond Zitur, age 53, passed away peacefully,
surrounded by family at, St. Vincent Healthcare on Tuesday, Nov.
8, 2005, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Chuck was born in St. Cloud, Minn., on March 18, 1952. He moved
with his family to Billings in 1960. He attended St. Pius
Elementary School and graduated from Central Catholic High. He
was employed by K-B Commercial Products for over 31 years.
Chuck married Sheryl Kostelecky on Aug. 12, 1978. They have
three children, Beth (Ryan) Willett, Jeff and Joe; and two
granddaughters, Ryanna and Jazmine Ray, all of Billings. He is
also survived by his parents, Jerry and Eilene Zitur; sister Pat
(Paul) Burch; and brother Ron, all of Billings; and brother Dale
(Terrie) of Anaconda. Also, his in-laws, Ted and Eleanor
Kostelecky, Ron and Diane Kostelecky of Billings, and Dale and
Nadine Stahl of Park City; and many nieces and nephews. Chuck
was preceded in death by his younger sister, Peggy.
Chuck’s passions were shared between his love for his family,
computers and the Internet, gardening, music and playing his
guitar. His favorite was the collecting, researching, buying and
selling of antique woodworking tools. Chuck will always be
remembered for his genuine kindness, strong spirit and sense of
humor, which he kept right to the end.
His family wishes to extend a sincere note of thanks and
appreciation to Dr. Christianson and “the gang” at Billings
Oncology Associates, as well as Dr. McMeekin and the wonderful
staff at St. Vincent Healthcare who cared for him in his final
days. You are all very special people.
Cremation has taken place. Vigil services will be 6 p.m.
Thursday, Nov. 10, at St. Bernard’s Church. The Memorial Mass
will be 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 11, at the church.
Michelotti-Sawyers Mortuary has charge of arrangements.
