Close up of the birch/redwood feature stripe and also one of the plywood clamps used to hold the strip in position until the marine glue sets.
The strips were applied cove up so that a piece of 1/4" dia. dowel could be used to protect the fragile edges during clamping. Ply clamps were attached with 2 screws into each station mould and were used instead of staples because I couldn't face filling all the staple holes!
