Kelly's Kovered Wagon

Hello my name is Kelly and I'm supposed to make a covered wagon in Ms. Topper's class.  We are making them because we are studying the Oregon Trail.  I decided to make it out of wood .  Hope you like the pictures!!!

I am planing the 2X8 planks for the sides using a Stanley #3 from a scrap of Walnut.
The wood  for the sides which is being cut with the turning saw  was cut from a block of Basswood. The scale of the model is 1:10.

Laying out and marking the sides.   Notice the block of Basswood.

Cutting the 2X8s which hold together the sides with a Patternmaker's saw.  Just the right size for this job.

Planing the sides of the wagon by using a Stanley # 2C.  Cutting the sides of the wagon by using a Miter Box.

Using a Disston backsaw saw to cut the hubs after I used the lathe to shape them.  Drilling a hole into the hubs so I can attach them to the axles.

Cutting with a Coping saw to cut out the middle of the wheels.  Here I am using a drill to make holes in the wheel so I can insert the spokes.

Planing the tongue of the wagon with the Stanley # 3 plane.   Here I am sewing the cover of the wagon (sorry it 's so dark).

Almost finished the wagon.  Still need the cover, seat & footrest, food trough , the stuff inside, and the water bucket hook.

Here is the finished product of "Kelly's Kovered Wagon".
